New forum for the electronic crowd
Amadeus Amadeus is offline 18-07-2010, 14:57 PM

Hey Everyone,
There have been many requests over the past year to provide a dedicated area for electronic artists. The same rules apply here as everywhere else so no need to go through them again. This area is for discussing anything you wish relating to electronic music but please continue to use the New MP3'ssection for posting up any new works.
Thanks!

If anyone has a less cheesy suggestion for the forum title please post it up here! Running low on ideas today so 'Electro Phreaks' is all I've got

If anyone has any objections to me dissolving the following social groups and importing the threads into this forum please let me know ASAP.
FL Studio Users
Cubase Users
Masterklass Project

The social groups are really slow, mainly due to the way they are built into the forum software - hard to find for new users and very easy for members to miss updates. If we import all of the threads from the three above groups we can get this forum moving straight away and get these posts on front of users who never even knew these groups existed.
If anyone has a problem with this let me know ASAP.

if u import the social groups, can u keep the subforums within the social groups? or would all the posts in the different topics be jammed together?

Just had something important pointed out to me. Re the Cubase group, it's used by many different genres as a DAW so it will probably make sense to set up a DAW specific forum.
There might be some editing required to tweak the thread titles to make sense but it shouldn't be too bad.
Just looking at the forum as a whole at the moment and trying to streamline things. If anyone has any ideas I'm all years!

Ya that would actually be a better idea and have like subforum topics within the Daw forum such as

Reason 4
FL Studio
Cubase
Ableton Live

etc etc..

but keep this forum also ~ lol

I suppose the question is would we be better off with an all encompassing DAW forum or a series of focussed sub forums? An all encompassing forum for DAW's would be likely to get more activity I think... users just have to specify their software in the thread title eg:

"Cubase 4 - how do I set up a daisychain?"

etc.

What you think?

Yes to the encompassing all DAW's, and yes to the thread title heading giving details of what DAW the question is regarding

Agreed, especially as there can be a lot of DAW related stuff not specific to a particular DAW. I read Sound On Sound DAW stuff for Logic, ProTools etc even though I don't use those, cos a lot of the info is relevant to any DAW.

So in reality this will be a forum for technical issues, geeky stuff! Basically Music and Computers. Sounds good to me.
