Creating Advanced and Effective Rolling Basslines
Matt Matt is offline 05-03-2011, 20:34 PM

In general a rolling bassline sounds like an arping deep synth, or a fast paced bass constantly plucking, but we're going to take that step further into making more complex and better sounding basslines

You will have to already know how to make a simple rolling bassline, side chain compress, use delays, reverbs and equalizers before you can understand how to make this because i will not be going through those basics

These types of basslines are commonly found in uplifting trance tracks, and if you ever wondered how to make one here is how you do it.

4 things i like to apply to my basslines

1. Your going to need a sub bass side chain compressed against the kick

2. A tight and clean dry bass covering mids and bit of highs

3. A phat wet synth of delays and reverbs to cover the high ends this usually thickens the bassline

4. (optional) Something unique to make the bass sound different

And layer all the sounds together to get your amazing bass sound ... cheers and enjoy this tutorial from Krystaline Trance
