You need to set up your audio device (ASIO hopefully) in the Devices menu. It's a one-off thing, after which you can forget it

Hey DG,
Nice to see you back - you get all of your gear back and setup yet? Everything you need to know about getting your audio setup in Cubase can be found.... HERE Hope that helps! Dave

ok heres a step by step check list.
1. open your mixer. the first track is ur mic in so make sure its turned up. 2. go to "divice setup" click "VST multi track" swich driver to the "asio full duplex driver", "click control panel"(underneath) and tick the "mic" box. (hint) the buffer sizes must all be multiples of "1024" press enter to apply individual changes but they must all be the same value) 3 check monitor is on to see if audio is going in youl see a bar next to the volume bar going up n down which represents audio. 5 double click your sound icon on the task bar for the audio mixer(on windows not cubase

I agree there with you James, I run Cubase 4 myself, astonishing work flow and great Audio Engine. My biggest regret was I wasted almost 4 years on FLStudio. Im going into the first year of using Cubase 4 now, Ive never looked back since the day I sat down and taught myself how to use it.

Yeh I have gone back to cubase sx3 now!
Does anyone know how I adjust the dry/wet for channel plugins? If I am in the mixer and I select the sound channel I want and press 'e' I can then select the plugin I want to use, easy. But if the plugin doesn't have a dry/wet mixer then how can I adjust it manually, anyone?

Not sure i understand... If it aint got one then it hasn't got one. I know I'm missing the point so maybe you'll elaborate Gav

It isn't obvious where it is but it has to be possible..
If I activate a plug-in on the track-channel, how do I adjust the wet/dry via Cubase? I know I can route to an fx track and adjust the wet/dry that way but what if I want the end signal to be routed back to the channel it came from? I need to adjust wet/dry on the track-channel instead but how? Looks like I need to dig out the manual! Last edited by GavV; 18-04-2010 at 16:06 PM..

I'm not on front of my system but you can definitely do this but I think it is actually done from the plug-in itself rather than from the channel strip to the side of the track. On the extreme left you can select the plugin and open it up in a popup - from there all you have to do is adjust the wet/dry mix. Although, you can probably do it somewhere else too - reading manuals has never been my forte, hence my total lack of knowledge of anything outside of how to create a new project hit record and play!

Thanks Superdude, yeh it must be poss but I haven't loaded up a project in a week so not tried yet. You're right though, normally all plugins have wet/dry but the Waves plugins that I started using don't have them
