The more I follow Stephen Ridley ...'The Pianist' that I stumbled across in Camden I am more and more inspired by him....this is his favourite vid that he posted up on Facebook......I love it

What an amazing Video Saph, thank you so much for sharing that. Its been forever since i came on here, but i have been full-on this week, pushing the new project with Degs, and really getting back into that 'self-promoting' vibe, which i guess is at the root of what this is saying. Certainly, when we believe that this 'Deon' of me is all there is, that is to say when my identity is lost completely in and as that personal idviduality, then of course that is when we are, so to speak, lost in a world governed by survival of that organism - that physical object-as-me. By its nature it feels separate and vulnerable - looks out at a separate world, and protects 'itself and it's own.' This is not to condemn that way of being, but it really is a case of 'by it' fruits shall it be known.' (I know i am on one here..but I do love these deeper debates )
Whilst vested self-interest is present, and it will always be present until we seek for a truer perspective or a greater reality, then the world we see will reflects this. This site is indeed a microcosm of this.
Anyway what a wonderful video and I wanted to share a project I am doing (something dear to my heart and something i feel deeply worthwhile) but not sure I know how to embed vids anymore... I'll try. Not to detract from the fab one you posted but, i don't know.. broaden the debate?? or maybe I will insert a link for anyone interested. THANKS SO MUCH!

That was an interesting video too....truth! However I can't quite get my head around the idea that our opinions don't count though......love is an opinion isn't it?? What is an opinion? It's a thought isn't it.....love is a thought ...a feeling.....so therefore our opinions do count as to what way the world is going. A very thought provoking vid...I agree that nobody can say with true conviction whether you are right or wrong.....all we can do is go with what feels right or wrong in our hearts and what are instincts tell us.

and now for one of my many musical interludes......

I love this track by Sade

Wow.. yeah that is an amazing performance and a beautiful song, been ages since i heard Sade.

It's a tricky on Saph. Only our sense of individuality (ego) cherishes opinions, because they are the stories that would give reality to our identity. They are not bad, and I agree they make up the stories of our lives a world in a sense, or maybe more accurately state where we see ourselves in relation to it all. So i guess in a realational sense, there is some kind of reason for them. As to Truth/LOVE ..yeah impossible to describe.. (whoa talk about going off piste on this music site!)
Anyway, have butcher's at this stunner of verse from the 11th century persian poet Fakhruddin Iraqi..........

Every word of every tongue is
Love telling a story to her own ears.
Every thought in every mind,
She whispers a secret to her own Self.
Every vision in every eye,
She shows her beauty to her own sight.
Every smile on every face,
She reveals her own joy for herself to enjoy.

Love courses through everything,
No, Love is everything.
How can you say, there is no love,
when nothing but Love exists?
All that you see has appeared because of Love.
All shines from Love,
All pulses with Love,
All flows from Love--
No, once again, all IS Love!

Stunner..great debate lovely clip

What a lovely poem

even David Cemeron is eager to discover the meaning of life. Yesterday it was printed in the news that ...his much ridiculed probe into the happiness index has been expanded to cover 'the meaning of life'.
He wants to know what makes me people happy or sad!

Well Mr Cameron I think it's pretty obvious why the nation is currently sad.....I don't think you need your happiness index to discover that really do you?
Or perhaps you do need it spelling out for you.

There are no jobs, on top of this
We constantly hear about fat cats bonus's...like Network Rail's boss Sir David Higgins being in line for a £336,000 bonus.....days after Network Rail admitted guilt over the death of two girls!! Being that Network Rail is funded by taxpayers ....it's like a kick in the teeth!
The children have been forgotton about they can't afford to get a decent education...and now think even if they could or did spend years scrimping and scraping borrowing and getting into huge debt....there won't be any jobs at the end of it anyhow.
Human rights have been exploited to the max which has resulted in many of our human rights actually being supressed

so yes Mr Cameron it's a nice idea to spend 8 billion pounds to discover what makes people happy.....but if you need a survey to do that....then it is quite worrying, the answers are pretty obvious...how do you come to your conclusions about other more complex issues in this world??

Off on a tagent there lol....but well maybe we should email Mr Cameron this thread

Okay so now I am really going to reveal my deepest strangest theories....are you ready?

I believe that the answers we seek lie at the bottom of the deepest oceans. I had the strangest dream one night...in this dream a group of angels explained to me that deep in the ocean there is a light.....a light so powerful that if man could somehow reach it....we could use it's resources to repair the damaged atmosphere and to power the earth without the need for oil and gas and electric. They then told me that should this source of power be abused , this light will withdraw deeper and be harder to access.

So there you go Mr cameron get those divers down there

Before you lock me up can I just request some cigarettes...my hot bottle and a good book to read........something like 'The Meaning Of Life'

Now then back to reality...Dreams do come true and I love how this one sticks two fingers up to the shallow cow at 00:45 and everyone else who judged Subo on her appearance.
We dont need amazing speeches and arty vids to change the world we need more people like Subo to step up and sieze the day

One of the best inspirational videos ever - Susan Boyle - Britains Got Talent 2009 - YouTube
Yes good on Susan Boyle for having the courage and confidence to get up there and perform despite the cynical attitudes of the entertainment industry.
She proved them wrong......but without Simon Cowell she may not be where she is now! So in actual fact it's Simon who has made her dreams come true.

I feel very sad today......Stephen Ridley 'The Pianist' who inspired this thread....inspired me and gave me hope that this world can be lively and colourful....was told this morning that he has lost is spot in Camden by Camden Council!

Edited here! I apologise for my negative remarks here but it did make me angry.
At the end of the day the council are just doing there job but everything is wrapped in so much red tape it's hard to see the wood through the trees.
Community spirit has become lost and blocked by laws and regulations that prevent the people from breathing life into their communities.
Without freedom of expression, freedom to be creative and reach out to others, the world will become and is already a much duller place.

Stephen has posted this blog in response:

Blog | Stephen Ridley | Official Website

Oh Stephen how the heck am I going to stalk you now????? I won't know where you are!!!
