For free rhodes I recommend Mr Ray

Otherwise, Lounge Lizard is the best imo.

Wow, this could be handy, as my keyboard seem to have popped a resistor or somit in its tone bank, and sounds....bland(yeah my playin skills to match)

OK.....now i have downloaded some of these, does anyone know how id get sonar7 to recognise them. They are sitting on my desktop as zip files, but i dunno wot to do to get them into sonar as a VST.

Anyone?

Unzip them and put them in your VST folder. You can find out where that is by going to Tools > Global Options > VST plug-ins. Once there, press the Scan VST Folders button in the same window. Just load the instrument into the synth rack and assign your keyboard to it and you're good to go.

Mr Ray is good but i have yet to find a Rhodes plug-in that comes very close to the real thing, most lack that tonal fuzz you get on the real rhodes piano when you drive them a bit harder, although Mr Ray is the best of the lot. A new Rhodes VST has just come out, i havent tried it yet.

Aye, Mr Ray is the business for a freeware vst and if you drop a bit of tube distortion over it, crank it till it bites and you can get a fairly decent emulation of the sound Steve's talking about.
