What kind of files do you use to make CD's?
Erik Jurado Erik Jurado is offline 28-04-2011, 10:44 AM

I would like to burn some CD's and would like to have decent quality music files. MP3's don't seem like they would be the best file format only because they are so small in size that you have to lose some kind of quality. I don't have many cd's to waste on experimenting or I would take that route.

MP3? AIF? M4A? LSD?

One experiment of mine that worked well for me if your sequencer allows it is to render your mix at 32Bit Float. Master that file and then make 320 mp3's. I just did this with a wip Im doing and it sounds good. As you probably know its only 16 bit wavs that can be burnt to disk so thats why I had to create the mp3's from my higher resolution wavs
.

Nothing to do with this thread but I was reminded of an experience when I was about 15. I had been reading an article on Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) where the voices of the dead can be recorded onto tape. A mate and I had spent an hour asking is there anybody there into an old tape recorder straining our ears in the hope of finding something in the background hiss....then suddenly as clear as if they were in the same room a voice spoke and we crapped our pants....

...turned out by some means I cant explain (perhaps Andy can) we had recorded a transmission from a neighbours CB radio and we had hHer on tape agreeing to meet some bloke for sex. We never dared tell Her husband but a few weeks later we did witness him chasing a bloke down the street who was desperatley trying to fasten his pants and shirt

So maybe ghosts aint real but listen to the white noise and you may just pick up some slut gagging for it!
