Can somebody give me a basic compression setting for vocals?
Erik Jurado Erik Jurado is offline 27-05-2011, 06:10 AM

I have been struggling for two days straight trying to get a decent compression setting for vocals for my song "Blow Me Away" - it starts off soft and then peaks with me singing very loud. I keep getting advice for stuff like "release time" and some other thing that isn't even an option on my preamp/compressor/eq. I am including a picture so hopefully somebody who has an idea where I could start to have my vocals come out decent.

There is a GAIN in the mic preamp that I need to know a good setting for,
and a THRESHOLD and RATIO in the compressor that need settings,
and an OUTPUT setting.

4 settings that I have tried all kinds of different ways. I don't remember which ones worked.

Thanks to whoever helps me out!
