I was sent an email asking to use some of my songs for a DVD.

This was on the UBW site, which has been dead for the past month altogether. I sent a return email asking what kind of DVD and how many DVDs and sent my phone number. THen about 10 minutes later I found out it was for a backpacking/archery/hunting DVD in which they are testing to see how quick they can sell 100 (I figure it will take a L O N G T I M E .) He also said he'll call me tomorrow around noon.

I have no idea what to expect or what to ask for in return. I am happy that someone wants to use my tunes and I know my mixing isn't very good, but on the other hand I don't have a job and I can use some funding - but back to the first hand, I don't want to scare the guy off by asking for something - but over to the second hand, I don't like the idea that I let them do it for a copy of a dvd and it turns into a big seller... a few things going back and forth and was hoping for some kind of advice, questions to ask, what NOT to do... you know...

On the third hand, I have NO IDEA what song I have that what go good with a backpacking/archery/hunting video except "Rejected Paranormal Activity" which was just experimenting with the special effects on my podfarm... that would be a great background for some drunken hunter. LMAO!!

Hah he's used to that the old c#nt hank. He's always hanging round my neck of the woods with his hand ostensibly in his pocket but i know he had his pockets removed cos he doesn't like the sound of cash jangling when he's on the fiddle and shake. Looks like I'm offering to join hank on that walk of shame if it all turns out to be true. I like your stuff dude (you kno that) but the reality is, somehow, somewhere they are after your savings or.... yer arse.

I am very pessimistic about all of this stuff myself.

I didn't even answer the phone today! OR check the messages. And no, the guy didn't let me know what song or songs he was talking about.

And now that I think about it, HUNTING? Hunting serial killers or banking CEO's maybe - but I'm almost positive they are talking about hunting animals. Probably the dangerous and deadly animals on this planet like deer or duck or elephant:

about 4 years ago, I got a very similar email,it was for a monster truck dvd

I didn't get paid for it...sometimes its worth doing for free, for the exposure.

I've since had music on a couple of their other dvds... again unpaid.

but that hunting video replays in my head when I think about the dude calling me. Also, my daughter - who has about 10 different types of animals that she takes care of - would be disappointed if I did do something like this project. Then again, If they really wanted to use my tunes, playing "hard-to-get" may sweeten the deal! LMAO!

Thanks for the advice. Even though I am not taking it it is still lingering in my thoughts and may come in handy if anything should escalate... like I really think that will happen!
