How to post a link to your track
Amadeus Amadeus is offline 30-07-2010, 11:05 AM

The new player and vanity URL system works differently than before.

To post a link directly to a specific track you can find the URL in your 'Manage Your MP3's'.

Alternatively, when you add a new MP3 to your page you will see an option to tick a box that will 'Create a New Forum Thread'. This will post your track directly to New MP3's. Be careful though, the track description ('Artist Comments') will appear in the forum. Any comments made to your track will also appear in the New MP3's forum.

The tick box to post new track in the forum doesn't appear to work, I just checked it with a new track and it didn't post, is it a bug ?

I think I know what's wrong Alan. Have you connected your forum and main site accounts yet? After you log in on the main site select "Change your forum details" from the drop down - add in your user name and password and this will connect the two accounts. Besides logging you in to both accounts this also allows you to cross publish content - eg new track uploads.
Let me know if this solves it.

Members with accounts from before the past week need to sync their artist page with their forum profile. In your Artist Account on the main site click on the artist menu and then click on Edit/Sync Forum Account
All you have to do is input your forum details there (user name and password) and the two accounts will sync up.

However, members who have signed up on the new site (August) automatically have their forum profile created and synced to their artist page.

To post a link in the forum, all you need to do is copy and paste the link into a post or if you want to name this link you can use the 'insert link' tab above the post window. Eg:

It also seems to work if you have more than one account, altho I've yet to fully test this!

I tried it for the first time with my track "Letting Go...", but it never did post.. No biggie for me since I'm used to just posting the link straight up via the URL BBcode..
