Just got screwed $99
Dacheleigh Music Dacheleigh Music is offline 30-04-2011, 09:44 AM

OK so I'm on what I assume to be a trusted website.. Been a member there for a couple years.. I see this ad (I don't usually click ads, but it seems interesting) and I click it out of pure curiosity. Well, it looks legit and seems free to sign up.. So I run through the process.. At the end of signup, it says, "Thank you for your purchase" and "enjoy your new membership".. I'm like, wtf? Says they charged me $99 for a subsciption. So I went back to the original links, filled out phoney info and not once did it say they were going to charge me $99 upon signup. I did some furter research and found out that this website is under investigation for fraud. I emailed them.. No reply.. Guess I'll be contacting a lawer now.. Oh what has this world come to??

*In case you are wondering, the name of the website is SaveBig.com.. Similar to some other websites I've seen before, but it's supposed to offer a freebie account, but in reality, they charge you without your consent.. I am soooooooooo pissed!!

And here's the link I clicked: http://register.savebig.com/lp/mar25...D91D3.9A235C62 Go ahead, do a phoney account.. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about! And get this, the "newsreporter" YouTube vid of them has rating and comments disabled.. Hmmm.. I wonder why????

You know, if it shuts down SaveBig.com, then I will be saving other people a loss as well.. That, in my opinion, is worth it to me.. I hate people that screw other people, and I'll do what it takes to bring them down.

That said, the thing is, the attourneys have ways to force this companies hands.. If SaveBig doesn't want a long drawn-out legal battle, they will more likely reply and comply if they know attourneys are involved. That's another reason why I'm in contact with an attourney.

On another note, I got another email stating SaveBig's refund could take up to 30 days to refund.. I was rather nasty with them with my reply, but the overall said basically that they took my money in 10 minutes, but will take a month to return to me..? And I had every furious curse word in the book with that message.. lol Hope they get the point..

OMG! Save Big changed the page I originally went to! Good thing I screenshot it.. Losers.... They put the credit card info first now instead of the last page..

Dunno about yanky law but if ya paid by credit card in the uk they'd just cancel the transaction. My advice - go strainght to your bank and tell em what happened - it'd work in the uk i reckon.

I agree with James here

usually you'll have protection on your account or if in any case, your bank will have a fraud squad who will want to recouperate their losses

HA! If only Yank Banks worked like that, too busy being a Wank Bank, my mom's old bank kept letting all kinds of un-Authorized transactions go through after repeatedly being told to stop because it was fraud, no dice, made her pay over $200 for someone else's benefit...

The best way to get your money back from a site like that is to give them 24hrs to send the money back to you account or refund you by Paypal (in case they say it takes longer because of a merchant account). Tell them that if they don't refund you they will be reported to their ISP and payment provider (eg Worldpay, Paypal, Clickbank etc). The payment providers can freeze their accounts which can take weeks to resolve, they won't want that happening. The ISP can also take them offline, especially if they are worried that they are scamming users through their service. Forget contacting lawyers, they will charge you thousands and will probably get nowhere if the company/servers are located in another jurisdiction. The one thing that will stand up in their defense is that they changed the payment page after receiving the complaint... your trump card in case they refuse to replay you though is the screen capture
