The contest was on a radio show focusing on my target audience, the Law of Attraction crowd. I was a guest on the show last week and may be again on Friday to talk with Pam Wertheimer, praised for her work with Sheryl Crow.
There's going to be a "celebrity management" group at this audition, it will be video taped and posted on the
DaytimewithDonna website. I'll get a copy too. After the trip, they want to have me back on the show to talk about the experience and after the next contest, they want me to mentor the winner as well as help them promote the show. It fits into my brand so I see possibilities of formal collaboration.
The cool thing is I have been seeking direction for my brand and that is what I can expect to get at this audition. It would be highly unlikely for them to clamor to get me signed on a management deal on a promotional audition but I will make contacts, discuss my brand (and the untapped income potential) and ask for introductions to anyone in that market. There's a movie production company called Spiritual Cinema that specializes in uplifting films, all kinds of activities around the movie "The Secret", motivational speakers that could use live and recorded music and big-name artists looking for new songs. I am very grateful for this opportunity to shake hands with people who might pass my name along.
And I have a second audition for a lead role in an original rock opera here in metro-Detroit. The writer and male lead/hero is DJing at University of Detroit's radio station and giving some of my songs a spin.
